SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS TRAMPOLINE CLUB formerly KU-RING-GAI TRAMPOLINE CLUB is a competitive and recreational trampolining club.
We aims to offer high quality trampoline classes, with coaching for athletes of all abilities.
We aim to provide fun and productive classes that allow each athlete to reach their potential. We coach pupils to achieve trampoline levels 1 through to 10.
As well as learning skills and routines in classes we enter NSW competitions for trampoline and mini-tramp.
We have two Olympic standard Euro Trampolines, 3 full sized string bed Trampolines, and a Euro Double Mini Trampoline. Eurotramp equipment is international and Olympic level and imported from Germany.
The Club was started by Club President and founding Head Coach Judy Perrin at the (then) KU-RING-GAI YMCA in St Ives, when she emigrated from Great Britain where she had coached North Cheshire Trampoline Club and the Cheshire Schools County Trampoline team.
Over the years the Club has worked with the St Ives YMCA and Ravenswood School. as well as operating from the St Ives Showground in partnership with the Ku-Ring-Gai Council.
Judy Perrin was the Australian Coach in 1992, 1995 & 1998. She also served as the NSW State Coach from 1985 - 2002. Judy is a life member of Gymnastics NSW and prior to that Trampoline Sports NSW.
Head Coach David Armston has also been an advanced trampoline coach for many years, coaching initially in the UK and then in Australia. He has run trampoline clubs in Newcastle Australia, and Leeds, Glasgow, Stevenage and Ripley in the UK. David is a life member of British Gymnastics and prior to that the British Trampoline Federation
Other coaches are Gymnastics Australia accredited.
There are four disciplines in Trampoline Sports recognised by Gymnastics Australia and FIG:
We offer competition training in Trampoline, Synchro and DMT/SMT. We do not currently offer Tumbling classes.
Classes are held for boys & girls aged from 6 years. We cover recreational and competitive trampolining from levels 1 to 10 (the highest).
With our priority being SAFETY, we teach beginners the basic landing & aerial skills on our Olympic Trampolines & Olympic Double Mini Tramp. Trampolining classes are supervised by qualified coaches. Crash mats, end decks, mats around the equipment, throw-in mats, overhead rigs and manual spotting techniques are used by accredited coaches to minimise risk of injury.
Once these are performed with confidence & good form, we progress to somersault skills for those who so wish.
Whilst many of our students are recreational trampolinists, many have represented both NSW and Australia.

Parents and Friends are welcome to help us raise funds for the club. Parents being actively involved are a great help to us.
The Club is dependent on volunteers to assist with and spot at competitions. There are many jobs at competitions requiring volunteers i.e. announcing, runners, marshalling, scoring, videoing. These jobs are not difficult but are necessary to ensure the competition runs smoothly.
We are always looking for more judges as well as coaches and any skills you may have which will help us grow the club. Please talk to the coaching staff about where you could help us.
